Week two comes to an end! I am loving seeing everyone's zombie themed painting. So many great ideas to steal! This week's recap is as follows:
I had a bit of a disaster, my pot of zombie wash got spilled in my work area, and I had to clean up that mess, and remake my wash. Not that it was that big of a deal, but it slowed me down this week. I did manage to finish some of the zombicide miniatures.
Two batches:
Batch "blue" WIP |
"Yellow" WIP |
Yellow and Blue lined up |
The horde grows! |
Close up shot |
These are going pretty quick, I just need to get some extra time and I think I can get Season 1 one complete and Season 2 started before the end of Zomtober! It may be a zombie Christmas, but they should all get done...
Current WIP shot:
Next up, Green and primed |
The tally for this week: 16 Zombicide minis complete. That brings the total this month to 36 zombies, still a mountain to go.
Wow, great strides towards completion, great idea doing them in colour batchs too.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I figured on making different colors, and with the mix of poses, just changing that breaks up the chore of painting the same over and over.
Delete16 in a week, my hat is off to you dude.
ReplyDeleteAwesome. The batch idea is very smart.
I had hoped for a bit better progress, but work and lfe keep getting in the way... :)
DeleteThat's a lot of zombies. Thumb up for the color theme, it works well.
ReplyDeleteI got some great advice - bright colors and then the wash, they turn out pretty well. I am planning on keeping this going for season 2 zombies as well.
DeleteLooking good mate! I've added my Zombicide season 1 stuff to my pile too...but it's gonna be awhile as I have 44 primed zombies and about 20 survivors sitting on the desk right now.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I need to get more primed to be able to get them painted quickly.
DeleteGreat progress. The horde's coming together nicely.
ReplyDeleteIt's growing rather quickly. It will be great to have so many more zombies to play with... Well maybe not...
DeleteAwesome! Very productive mate!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteThose look really good. I wasn't sure about the yellow and blue when I saw just the block colours, but the finishing is excellent!
ReplyDeleteThe wash really dulls the colors, so starting with too bright/stark actually pays off later. With so many to paint, its the only way to get them done halfway quickly!
DeleteHell I'm struggling to get one or two minis done for Zomtober and you throw out a batch posting like this one - great stuff!! I like the road tiles you've popped this merry band on for the photo as wells. LOL moment towards the end as I can just imagine old Bing Crosby by the piano singing "I'm dreaming... of a zombie Christmas, just like the ones I used to know." :-)
ReplyDeleteNone of these will win a contest, but they do all have paint on them!
DeleteThe Bing Crosby reference brings to mind a strange Fallout inspired image for some reason... LOL indeed!
Looking really good!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to get me this game that everyone else seems to own. Getting all those zombies would complete my horde, easy.
Zombicide does have a nice mix of poses and plenty of zombies to build a horde with. The game is pretty fun to boot!
DeleteTo be honest your WIP shots didn't impress me much but what a change to see them completed! The finished figures look great grouped together. It is a simple but effective technique you have going here.
ReplyDeleteThe WIP shots do look rather meh. Individual zombies are still a bit lacking, but they make a decent horde. Hopefully they will work with more colors. I think it will give me a good looking horde without too much effort.
DeleteEpic progress!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteWOW 16 Zombies in a week. That's 5x what I managed to finish. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI may have painted 16 zombies, but they are nothing special quality wise. Nobody can say they don't have paint at least!
